Effective August 7, 2026
Spruced is operated by KovaBay LLC, doing business as Spoonfuls ("Spoonfuls," "we," "us"). You can reach us at [email protected].
You take or choose a photo of an item, and Spruced returns AI-generated guidance on how to clean it, along with optional product or service suggestions. That's the whole app.
The photo you submit for analysis. When you ask for guidance, the app first resizes the image on your device, then sends it to our service at tryspruced.co. To produce the result, that image is forwarded to our AI provider, Anthropic (the Claude API), which analyzes it and returns the answer. Any short "focus" note you type is handled the same way. We do not store your photo on our servers. It is processed to generate your result and then discarded. Under Anthropic's commercial API terms, images sent this way are not used to train its models.
Photos and results you save. If you save an item, it is kept only on your device, inside the app. It is never uploaded to us. You can remove saved items in the app or by deleting the app.
Anonymous usage counts. So we can tell how often features are used, the app sends anonymous event pings such as "a result was shown." These contain no photos, no content you entered, and nothing that identifies you, just the name of the event.
Basic network information. Like any internet service, our infrastructure provider (Cloudflare) automatically receives your device's IP address in order to route your request and protect the service from abuse (for example, temporary rate limiting). We do not use it to identify you, and it is retained only briefly.
Spruced accesses your camera or photo library only when you choose a photo to analyze, and only for that purpose. It doesn't run in the background or access your library otherwise.
Spruced may show links to Amazon and other retailers or local services. Spoonfuls is an Amazon Associate and earns a commission on qualifying purchases, at no extra cost to you. When you tap a link you leave Spruced, and that site's own privacy policy applies, and we don't control it.
We rely on Anthropic (to analyze your photo) and Cloudflare (to host and protect the service). They process data only to provide these functions.
Spruced is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
Because we don't keep an account for you and don't store your photos, there's very little on our side to access or delete. The saved items on your device are fully in your control: delete them in the app, or remove the app. Depending on where you live (for example, under GDPR or CCPA), you may have additional rights; contact us and we'll help.
If we change how Spruced handles information, we'll update this page and the effective date above.
